Description |
We are one of the competitive robotics teams from the Lehua Engineering Team. Although we enjoy the competitive aspect of robotics tournaments, we enter RoboFest to have a good time, to compliment our other 4th quarter activities (flight science, rocketry, underwater ROVs, etc.), and - mostly - to help train our new members.
The team we assemble for RoboFest is a combination of veteran students and rookies. Instead of having an adult coach, our veteran student leaders coach the team while teaching and mentoring next year's team leaders in the art of leadership, and our new members in the basics of robotics. (This is why you never see our head coach at RoboFest!) All students are expected to return to our school with what they have learned and teach various STEAM lessons to other students during the regular school day.
This year, our Engineering Team captain (Josh) and two assistant captains (Victor and Monsour) will be coaches/mentors. Reba and Mitchell are preparing for leadership positions next school year, while Jasmyne and Jayden are new members looking to get a jump start so that they can hit the ground running this Fall. |
