(1) Robofest 2012 Team Registration is Open

The 13th annual Robofest 2012 season has kicked-off! Coach and Team registration is open on the web at We have also posted a Zip file containing all of the important documents for this season, including the PowerPoint presentation from the Kick Off meetings on the website.


(2) Kick Off Meetings Repeated

For prospective coaches and teams who missed the first kick-off meetings, identical presentations will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2011, 10:00am ~ 11:30am and Saturday, Jan 7, 2012, 10:00am ~ 11:30am (EST) in room M218 in the Buell Management Building on the campus of LTU in Michigan. (3) MCWTF Grants Offered to All-Girl Teams

Once again, the MCWTF ( Michigan Council of Women in Technology Foundation, ) is offering $500 grants to all-girl middle school or high school Robofest teams. Application form can be accessed at: .

The deadline for returning applications is December 22, 2011 by midnight. Late applications will not be accepted. Winners will be notified by January 13, 2012.


(4) Special RoboParade Opportunity at COBO Hall!

All RoboParade Teams since 2006 and rookie RoboParade teams -- you are invited to the following special Robofest/RoboParade event:

We look forward to seeing all of your fabulous floats again! No team registration fees. Trophies will be awarded for all floats that complete the parade course.


(5) Workshops for Registered Robofest Teams

Robofest is offering a series of programming workshops throughout January and early February 2012. The workshops are FREE to registered Robofest teams, and reservations are required to attend. Programming instruction will be provided for NXT-G, C, and Java. To view a complete list of the workshops, please visit our website and follow the link for Robofest 2012. (6) Students Looking for Robofest Team to Joi

A 5th grade student in Dearborn is looking for a local team to join. Please contact his mother, Allison Burke at burkeal @ gmail . com if you have an opening on your team.


Two brothers in the Southfield area are looking for a Robofest team to join in the Jr. Division. If you have room on your team for two more, please contact their mother, Demetra Gleton at dgleton @


An 11 year old in the Farmington Hills area is looking for a team to join.� Please contact his father, Gary Ledermann at gledermann @ if you are looking for another team member in this area.

(7) Wanted: Additional Robofest 2012 Site Hosts

Robofest is seeking to expand hosting opportunities in the East Coast States and Central States of the US, as well as in Europe and Africa for the 2012 Competition Season.  Qualifying Competition Sites are needed in late February through April 2 of 2012. Interested individuals, organizations, or schools should contact Robofest office at [email protected] or check out and click on the *For Site Hosts* link.
