(1) Robot Town

As you may have heard, there is a strengthening movement to create a campus for robotics in the Detroit area in Michigan. Plans for a campus called RobotTown have been in the making for years.


Briefly, the goal is to create a living laboratory where people can come to learn, play, test, create, socialize, innovate, discover, and share knowledge about robotics. We would like to create a full time Robofest arena in the town. For more information you can check out

(2) Robot Expo, September 26


Robofest office is organizing an annual exposition conference for academia, industry, and government sectors involved in robotics in order to

o   share knowledge and resources,

o   introduce / demonstrate new robotics products, services, and educational programs,

o   promote R & D collaboration,

o   meet with prospective job seekers, and

o   inspire students to pursue STEM careers


Already 12 companies / organizations officially confirmed to participate. If your company or organization is interested in having a booth during the event, please send an email to [email protected]. Just a few tables left. The official inaugural date is Monday Sep. 26, Noon~5pm at Lawrence Technological University, Michigan. LEGO Education donated 5 NXTs for raffles. (3) Hexapod Sumo Robot Camps at Lawrence Tech

Tue, Aug. 23, 10am~3pm. Registration is free and free lunch will be provided.

Each team can borrow a BIOLOID Premium hexapod robot sponsored by ROBOTIS Inc.

Teams that take this camp are required to compete on Sep. 26 during RoboExpo. Highly qualified high school teams only. Please send email to Dr. Chung ([email protected]) to apply.
