(4) Fall Robotics Course for Homeschoolers in Michigan

The COVE Homeschool Coop is offering an Intro to Robotics course in the fall for homeschoolers. Students will learn the basics of robotic design and programming. No experience necessary! We will be working with the LEGO NXT robot which is a great robot for any age group. Students will learn the logic used in programming and how to write their own programs using the NXT-G programming language. Different challenges will be given to students and they will have to plan, design and program their robot for competitions such as Robofest 2012 in the spring. Two hour class, Grades 6 and up, Min: 4 Students.

(6) Introduction to Robofest, Presentations for teachers during MDSTA-DACTM

Math and Science focused Robofest is one of the most affordable, yet effective autonomous robotics competitions in the nation. In contrast to other robotics competitions, Robofest does not require teams to hold major fundraisers to underwrite the cost of participation. The typical investment is about $300 for a robot kit that can be reusable every year and a $50 registration fee. Flexibility of Robofest also makes it cost effective. There will be a presentation to introduce Robofest for new prospective coaches during the 2011 MDSTA-DACTM Fall Conference in Lamphere H.S., Madison Heights, MI on November 12, 2011. Please visit:
