Robofest 2004 Informational
Meeting on Jan 17 Report
Even
if we had a heavy snow on Jan 17, thirty-four prospective Robofest coaches came
to LTU. They watched Earthquake Challenge game demonstrations, reviewed game
rules, and gave a lot of constructive ideas to improve the event for the
students. They were planning the following number of teams according to the
survey done on that day:
- 54
Lego Robot Competition teams
- 9
Advanced Robot Competition teams
- 3
Lego Exhibition teams
- 1
Advanced Exhibition team
(2) Corrections in the draft game rule
-
The height of the bottle should be 8.5, not 7.5. Capacity is 20 oz (591 ml).
-
Ladder: Four 16-size beams, not 12. Eight 10-size axles, not ten.
The
final version to be posted on Feb 21 will have all the corrections and
clarifications about rules. We thank everyones inputs so far and welcome any
new suggestions/corrections before Feb. 20th.
(3) Where to
buy the crates?
Perhaps due to
our Robofest teams, all the crates at Meijers are sold out! After contacting
Sterilite company, we found out that you can buy
crates from True Value Hardware stores.
To find a location near you, please go to: http://www.truevalue.com
