Occupying the target zone
Robot does not need to be standing still on the Zone. (It may move as long as
the body covers the center point)
If the open area of the robot is over the target, does that qualify as
occupying the target zone? - We decided to allow that as the legal
occupation of the zone. To promote finding the zone, rather than just doing
Sumo. Another reason is that it is hard for judges to declare precisely
whether it is on the Zone or not, because Judges are not supposed to be
closer to the table.
Number of robots to be used: only one robot kit (controller and frame) can
be used. Robots must be designed to do both missions without having additional
frames.
The current rule says: When positioning the robot on the
table, a team member may calibrate sensors for several
seconds before the game start signal is given by the judge.
Clarification: Teams have maximum 30 seconds after the location & orientation are
designated to set up their robots, including calibrating sensors
Teams cannot use a sensor that may damage people's eyes. For example: a sensor using
visible laser light.

There will be penalty points if discontinuous. See the
scoring rubric.
Is it necessary to design the robot to lift the pen (or pencil) when making the drawing
as part of the challenge? [Ans] No.
For Game Judges
Do not forget to measure both the size and weight of the robot for each match.
Game Judges need to decide the initial RoboZone game configurations (location and
orientation of robots; the location of the Zone and Bottle; 3 or 4 types are
suggested as shown in the rule) before the opening ceremony
and use them consistently, but randomly, through out the day.
