Robofest medals
We are pleased to announce that each
registered student participant will win receive a 3” large
gold colored medal provided by IEEE Region
4 and Southeastern Michigan Section.
The Southeastern
Michigan Section of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE)
includes nine counties in southeast Michigan, and Essex County in Ontario
Canada. IEEE/SEM has grown from 2,200 members in 1963 to nearly 4,000 members
today and has student branches at 10 universities in the region. The section
has twelve chapters which represent 15 IEEE technical societies. Region 4
serves IEEE Members in all or parts of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan,
Minnesota Nebraska, North and South Dakota, Ohio, and Wisconsin USA and Windsor
Area Canada. Robofest thanks IEEE for their generous
support of our program.
(2) Another Java with
Lego Workshop on Friday March 11
Any high school
students, not currentwho are not currently
registered as Robofest teams, are invited to attend a free Lego with Java workshop (Robotics Exploration) on Fri. March 11,
8:30am-1:00pm at Lawrence Tech in Michigan. During the workshop, we will have
mini challenges. The best 3 teams will get small trophies. In addition, their
teamthe
winning teams’ registration fee will be waived, if they decide to
register for the Robofest
Senior Ddivision.

(3) Robofest
2005 Warm-up Competition at LTU on Saturday,
March 19
The practice warm-up competition will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2005 on the campus of LTU from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. It is a great opportunity for new teams, regional site hosts and judges to participate in practice rounds to see how the Robofest competition works.
We are now taking
reservations for teams for theto participate in the practice competition. Please
send an email to chung@LTU.edu with your
team ID(s). Currently 3 junior and two senior teams are registered. We have
decided to have 3 more teams. We will provide pizza and pop for registered
teams, host organizers, committee members, judges, and warm-up site volunteers.
