(1) Additional Robofest Contest Site for 2006
Robofest has confirmed the following
new sites as 2006 Contest Site:
Mary Institute and
Senior Division Game and Exhibition
(2) New! VEX Pentathlon Competition Added to Robofest
Robofest has just added a VEX
Pentathlon Competition for 2006 for teams who are using VEX. The VEX Pentathlon Competition will have two
different dates, a practice/qualifying date (April 29) in
Teams must register for the VEX
Pentathlon practice/qualifying site. The
practice/qualifying site will take place on April 29,
The VEX Pentathlon Practice/Qualifying
Round and VEX Pentathlon Competition is being hosted and organized by the Cranbrook
Kingswood Robotics Team.
Exact VEX Pentathlon Competition
& Event details and Rules will be finalized and announced in early
February. Stay tuned to the Robofest
website for additional details.
Registration is now available on the web for a limited number of
teams. Registration will be on a first
come first serve basis. Registration is
$35.00 per team, and will cover both dates and all Pentathlon Events.
(3) Team Registration Update
Competition space at various sites
is filing up quickly. If you have not
already registered your team(s) for a Robofest Competition Site, please do so
as soon as possible. You can register on
the Robofest website, www.robofest.net. Returning coaches should use their old coach
ID and password to register teams. New
Coaches will need to register as a Coach before registering a team. Your Coach registration will be confirmed via
an e-mail to your account. If you do not
receive verification of your registration, contact Chung@LTU.edu.
(4) Robofest 2006 Workshop Schedule
The
Robofest 2006 Programming Workshop Schedule has been posted on the Robofest
website. You will find the schedule on
the main page, www.robofest.net,
entitled 2006 Schedule. These Programming Workshops are offered only
to registered Robofest Teams. Students,
Parents, and Teachers are invited to attend these Workshops. Attendees (Teams) should bring the following:
- Laptop
- IR tower
- A drivable robot (slow RoverBot or
TankBot recommended)
- One light sensor and one touch
sensor
This Saturday, January 28, there
will be another RCX code programming workshop for registered teams. This workshop contents is same as that of Jan
14th workshop. Please RSVP to
chung@LTU.edu
The Workshop will be held in the
Science Building S321 at Lawrence Tech in

the third floor of the
Workshop materials (PDF, PPT, and

Coaches
Robofest
was started in 2000 and is now in its 7th year. We want to recognize the Coaches who have
been with us for five years or more. If
you have participated in Robofest for five or more years, including this year,
please send us an e-mail. We plan to
present Mentorship Awards on May 13, during the World Robofest Championships at

your hard work and dedication to your students!
