Robofest at IGVC

Robofest 2012 at IGVC (Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition)

Robofest competitions will be held during IGVC (www.igvc.org) thanks to Women In Defense Michigan Chapter (www.wid-mi.org) as a tent sponsor. We will have R2R game, Jr. Bottle Sumo, Sr. Bottle Sumo, and Sr. Vision Centric L2Bot Challenge competitions. Robofest teams will have chance to visit College IGVC Robotics teams.

How to register teams

If you are a coach of R2R game or VCRC team(s), you do not need to re-register. Please contact Dr. Chung at chung@LTU.edu. We will copy your existing team info to the IGVC site. You do not need to pay registration fee either. You may register teams and change team data until May 31.
All Sumo teams must register new teams using the standard Robofest registration process. Please follow the steps on 2012 page under Team Registration Section.

2012 Competition Rules and Number of Teams Invited (first come, first serve)

Sr. and Jr. R2R Game (6 teams each division)
L2Bot Vision Centric Robot Challenge (5 teams)
Jr. Bottle RoboSumo (10 teams)
Sr. Bottle RoboSumo (8 teams)
Hexapod Sumo - possible.

Things to bring for Teams

Your robot(s)
Your computer to program your robot to adjust light values, if needed
Check-in fee: None
Everyone who is not a spectator (coaches, team staff, students, etc.) must bring the signed IGVC waivers. The form can be downloaded at http://www.igvc.org/waiver.pdf
If your team has not comepeted in Robofest 2012 season, then you also need to prepare Robofest Release form that can be found at: www.robofest.net/ConsentReleaseForm.pdf

LTU Robofest & IGVC will prepare the following:

Team tables and chairs; extension power cords; power strips
Two R2R game fields. (One practice field)
One Vision Centric Robot Challenge course
IGVC Certificate of Participation
Winner Trophies and Participation Medals
Participation gift for every student
Pizza Party together with participating college students, Sunday 6pm right after the IGVC Award Ceremony.

Notes to R2R teams

Unknown factors and layout will be unveiled around 2pm on Sunday
Note that the event will be held in a tent. Teams may need to change light sensor values.
One board can be used to block unwanted light source

Notes to Vision Centric Robot Challenge teams

Each round may use different course setups.
