Robofest at IGVC

Robofest 2010 at IGVC (Intelligent Ground Vehicle Competition)

TARDEC Joint Center for Robotics invited Robofest to have a competition during IGVC (www.igvc.org). We will have RoboPower & Vision Centric L2Bot Challenge competitions. Robofest teams are encouraged to visit College IGVC Robotics teams. Teams will have chance to see demos of various Field & TARDEC robots.

Associate Events for the General Public

NXT hands-on workshop with Robot C programming language (Mini Robo Sumo Competition)
- Sat. June 5, 2pm-3:30pm
- Sat, June 5, 4pm-5:30pm
- Maximum 24 seats for Highschool students and adult coaches for each session
- To register, email to Shari Stout at sstout@LTU.edu
- You do not need to bring anything; preassembled NXT robot and a laptop will be used for a team of two.
Introduction to Robofest for prospective Site Hosts, coaches, and teams

How to register teams

Coaches must contact Shari Stout at sstout@LTU.edu to register by Thursday, May 27, Noon
Send just team ID if there is no team member change; if there are changes, send team member info by email too.

Things to bring for Teams

Your robot(s)
Your computer to program your robot to adjust light values, if needed
Registration fee: None
Everyone who is not a spectator (coaches, team staff, students, etc.) must bring the signed IGVC waivers. The form can be downloaded at http://www.igvc.org/waiver.pdf
Trophies, certificates, and medals you won to display (optional)

LTU Robofest & TARDEC will prepare the following:

Team tables and chairs; extension power cords; power strips
Three RoboPower game fields
One Vision Centric Challenge course
IGVC Certificate of Participation
Winner Trophies and Participation Medals
Participation gift for every student
Pizza Party together with participating college students, Sunday 6pm

Notes to RoboPower teams

Unknown problem and layout will be unveiled at 2pm on Sunday
Note that the event will be held in a tent. Teams may need to change light sensor values.

Notes to Vision Centric Challenge teams

Each round may use different 2D barcode; this means the playing field layout is different for each round. For example, round 1 may use 2 cones; round 2 may use 4 cones.

The event is open to the public.
Admission is free. Parking is free.
