Location of the Robofest 2003 CID-DW competition

The Dexter-Elmhurst Family and Community Center

Parking is available on the south side of the building. The parking entrance is on a one-way street, so you will have to loop the block to gain entrance to the parking area.
The event will be held in the newly renovated gymnasium at the Center. Please wear soft soled shoes, and please do not consume food or beverages in the gym.
Bring your cheering squad on the day of the competition! Admission is free.

Tentative Schedule for CIS-DW site

8:00am	Setup begins
8:30am	Doors Open. Inspection, Team Interview, and Team Photo taking begins. Practice playing fields are open.
10:00am	Opening Ceremony
10:20am	Missing problem given. "Mission Possible" Flash Problem Solving Round begins.
11:00am	Last call for Flash Problem Solving Round
11:10am	"Mission Possible" competition first round using predetermined order. (4x6min=24min)
11:35pm	Judge's Visit to Team Tables
11:50pm	"Mission Possible" competition second round using predetermined order. (4x6min=24min)
12:15pm	"Mission Possible" semi-final and final. (2x6min=12min)
12:30pm	Award and Closing Ceremony

Team Check-In and what to do before the opening ceremony at 10:00am

Check-in will begin at 8:30am at the entrance of the gym. Team coach is supposed to check-in. It is strongly recommended for coaches to wait the check-in until all the team members arrives. Teams are required to check-in by 9:30am. The coach must submit media release forms as in the official rules when checking-in. A package of name badges will be given to each official coach. When the missing problem is given, coaches are required to leave the team table area.
Before 10:00am, each team must finish the following:
1. Robot Inpection and Interview: Every team member must present. Must bring your robots and the team sign on the table.
2. Take Team Photos: Must bring the team sign and robots. Two pictures will be taken. One for the team, the other for the robots. They will be printed on the Certificate of Achievement.
3. Test your robot in the gym and adjust your programs

Awards

Performance Awards are decided by the scores. Two honorable mention trophies are decided by judges. Volunteer proctors are watching your team table if any adults are giving direct help. Between 11:35am and 11:50am, Judges will visit some teams for asking questions after the first round. All the team members must present at their tables during this time period.
