any adults are giving direct help or not. They may ask questions by visiting
your team table (or announcer will call your team to come to the judge's

Handy Board
- Game order of the second round: (1) Collegiate Handy Board (2) Lego (3)
High School Handy Board
- For each robot division, the order of teams to play the game has been decided by a computer
program using a uniformly distributed random number generator on 4-26 at
10:35pm.
- The announcer will call four teams based on the order pre-decided above.
Also he will call four teams to play next time. During the first round, all
the team members should be in the waiting area. They must bring the team
sign prepared by LTU on the team table.
- For each team, only two team members are
allowed in the official playing field area to play the game.
- After the first round game, they will receive medals and all the team
members and coach(es) must go to photo shop to take a picture to be printed
on the certificate. The team sign is necessary to identify each team photo
for the certificate.
Items
to Bring on Sat. April 28
- Teams must bring their own laptops (computers) to the tournament to modify/adjust
programs. The pit and practice area will have outlets for your
computers. It is recommended to bring a power strip.
- A cardboard garage to house RCX to prevent interference from other RCX
while downloading programs.
- Robo Messenger game pieces for the practice fields
- "Smile" for the picture on your certificate!
Lunch
- You may bring your lunch. However, since no food is allowed inside the gym,
you may not bring coolers into the gym. There will be tables and chairs in the
hallway as well as on the jogging track upstairs for lunch in the Field House.
- A food concession will be setup in the building. (Perhaps outside, if
weather permits.)
Special Notes
- All programming is to be
done by the students. Parents, teachers, or coaches may not assemble the
robot bodies or write the program code for the team at any time during the
preparation period or during the contest. Especially on the day of the
competition, be wary of getting caught up in the excitement and forgetting
that this is a student contest! Any direct participation (writing code,
assembling robots) is a violation of the rules.
- Whenever you download a new program to your robot, you must cover both RCX
and the IR tower with a box to prevent interference from other RCX. It is
recommended to cover Lego RCX IR interface with black electric tape after
downloading the program.
- Selected pictures taken inside the gym will be posted at this website after the competition.
- NO FLASH LIGHTS allowed in the gym!
