In order to prevent a robot from breaking apart during its run, it is all right to use tapes, rubber bands, and glue to hold Lego blocks together.
"Leadership award" to teachers/coaches and "most innovative design award" to teams will be given during the closing ceremony.
Robo Race
Clarification: If your robot does not stop its motors at the final home position, you may restart from the beginning. (Or you may decide not to restart if there is little remaining time.) If you decide not to restart, the referee will record the time when the robot hit the final home position and leave a note, incomplete.
Seven bookshelves will be used to construct a racetrack.
Robo FireFighter Race
Location of the candle: This is a relaxation of the rule. Candle will be located at the center of the curve, not the outside corner of the curve. See photos below.
Clarification: The primary goal is to extinguish the candle. If your robot passes the candle without blowing out the flame, you may choose to restart immediately at the beginning home position with the remaining time, or, you may allow the robot to continue its journey, with the hope that the robot will blow out the flame on the return trip.
Robo Tag
Lamp bulb specification: RadioShack #46, Screw-Base Lamps, 6.3 volts and 250mA. The lamp will be given before each game for each team. However, you must have a fresh 9V battery and a Screw Lamp Base.
Size of the ring will be made of four 4’6” studs
A qualifying test (benchmark test) will be conducted to make a single elimination tournament table. For the test, we are going to measure the time to tag a tagee which is stationary.
Game time has been changed from three minutes to two minutes.
